Multiple Language Support

• Approach is truly a multi-language product. Running Approach in your native language is just as easy as downloading a Language file and switching it from the Options window. You do not even have to restart the program!
• Approach supports files named in any language thanks to UNICODE-based implementation.

Extensibility

• Approach supports plug-ins for further enhancements. Use Scope to preview graphics files of most popular formats: BMP, EMF, GIF, JPEG, PCX, PNG, TIFF, and WMF.
• Play back WAV sound files right from Approach menus with the tiny InstantWave plug-in.
• Preview text files easily. The InstantTxt plug-in displays thumbnails right from Approach menus.
• The ClipboardAssistant plug-in allows you to copy to the clipboard the path to the selected item. For folders, it also allows you to copy entire directory listing.

KO Approach comes in two editions: a 32-bit edition and a 64-bit edition, to match the Operation System of your computer. To determine the version of your OS, right click the Computer icon on your desktop and choose Properties:

This window may look different depending on the version of your OS; however, if you are running a 64-bit OS, it will be specifically mentioned, eg. x64 or amd64. For 32-bit operating systems, this information is typically omitted.

For many people, Windows Explorer is all that they know and they become used to the various quirks that can sometimes make it annoying to use. Other people give up on the program entirely and seek out alternatives. But there is a third way, and this is something that is provided by KO Approach, and add-on for Explorer that can help to greatly speed up navigation.

The application makes it possible to access your folders from almost anywhere thanks to a highly customisable menu system. This works in much the same way as the familiar context menu that appears when right clicking, but in this case it is activated with a long left click. You can then use the menu that is displayed to navigate through the contents of your hard drive without the need to launch Explorer.

Another option is to activate ‘approach’ feature which enables you to access the same menu from the KO Approach notification area icon. The final option is to make use of titlebar menus. As you might deduce, this type of menu can be accessed from the titlebar of any program – all you need to do is hold down Ctrl while left clicking.

The different methods of browsing through your folders can be used in different ways. For example, you can use the notification area icons to access your most frequently used folders, while the other two menus can be used to browse through the entire contents of your drives. It is also possible to add extra shortcuts to programs and web sites to make the utility even more useful.

An important feature of KO Approach is it support for plugins. There are a number of free plugins available and these enable you to extend the capabilities of the program in a number of ways such as adding file previewing and copying information to the clipboard.

KO Approach is a desktop Shell Enhancement that enables quicker access to files and folders with a set of hierachical menus. KO Approach runs on the background and does not need to be open at all times. In fact, unless you need to change some of its settings, you may never know Approach is there at all!

Just click on any folder in Windows Explorer, hold down the mouse key and a menu will appear, displaying the contents of the selected folder as a list of items. Highlight folder icons to expand sub-menus and move further down your directory structure, or select a file to open it in the same the way you do it from the Start menu. It’s that simple.
