Augustus Loop is a VST plugin that features a unique tape-based delay effect that you could use to enhance your mixes. According to the developer, the plugin comes with several additional features that makes it easy to integrate with the looping device of your choice.
The delay is quite long and can reach a maximum of 3600 seconds or one hour. In addition, you can to record and set the loop delay time while recording your first phrase. If you want to add a little extra touch to the effect, then you can consider employing the tape sim section and thus, emulate the signal degradation specific to vintage tape echo machines.
Since the idea is to enable you to simulate an old-school tape delay, it means you can reverse the direction, stop it any time, change the time smoothly or adjust the speed by increasing or decreasing the pitch. To achieve smooth transitions, the plugin can be set to fade up and down automatically in your playing and it can even clear the loop one time after the fade out. The seamless transitions can also be obtained via the inertia free mode that has the role of suppressing the tape-like behavior when you are changing the delay times between the loop lengths.
